Straight from the Mozilla Developer Center, Firefox 3 Beta 1 is now available for download. The official announcement states that the beta is recommended only for those interested in testing the core functionalities. Mozilla’s interface designer, Alex Faaborg, has posted more information about Firefox 3’s visual refresh. It seems that Firefox 3 will be featuring different skins for Win XP, Vista, Mac OS X, and some Linux distributions.

Microsoft has announced that the new update for Internet Explorer 7 no longer requires Windows Genuine Advantage validation. This means that users with pirated copies of Windows XP will be able to download the latest IE 7 from Microsoft’s site (assuming they haven’t already downloaded it from somewhere else ).
