FireNes: Add NES Games To Firefox

When you’re in a hurry to waste time and don’t feel like browsing through different arcade sites, what should you do? How about installing your time wasters right into Firefox?

FireNes is an add-on for Firefox that will let you play over 2,500 NES games from within the browser. Now that’s a lot of time wasters. Once installed, you can access your new time wasters by going to Tools -> FireNes. You’ll see the list of games on your sidebar. Just double click on the title of your choice and the game will load in a small window.

Here’s how it looked when I was testing it:

Some games were a bit sluggish but that might be different depending on your computer. Controls are mapped to Z, X, and the arrow keys. There’s no search option so you’ll have to scroll down to find the game you want. FireNes works with Firefox 3.

If you’re having trouble finding the download link on the site, here it is.

For those of you who were wondering, I’m still using Win XP heh.
