ThunderBrowse: Adds A Browser To Thunderbird
I’ve always liked using Mozilla Thunderbird so I could have my email separate from my browsing. Being the spoiled (read lazy) Mozilla user that I am, I’ve always wished that I didn’t have to open links contained in emails in my browser and just open them in Thunderbird instead.
If you’ve been wishing for the same thing, you’re going to love this.
ThunderBrowse is an extension for Thunderbird that will add a URL bar to Thunderbird’s interface which will let you view websites inside Thunderbird without having to access your browser.

The URL bar has a back, forward, and refresh button. An address bar is present as well.
Now if this was the only thing ThunderBrowse had, I’d still be happy but lucky for us, it comes with a lot of features.
Just like most browsers, ThunderBrowse has an auto-suggestion feature that suggests sites you’ve already visited when typing in the address bar.
You can access ThunderBrowse’s options to have it perform the way you want it to.

If you want to see the list of all the commands the address bar supports, just type in about:commands in the address bar.
If you find that you’d rather visit the link in your browser just right-click on the link and choose “Visit in Browser”.

So the advanatage is not having another window popup with a browser when you click on a link in your mail. That’s it nothing else!

I tried Thunderbird a couple of years ago and for some reason I didn’t get on board with it at all. This is a nice new feature and it seems like a good time to try it out again.
Cheers, Dan.

I guess it’s kind of cool, but I have absolutely no desire to see websites in my mail program. Maybe I’m just crazy like that.

This is a nice idea, definitely. I stopped using Thunderbird back when I made gmail my primary email; I don’t really miss having an extra application running all the time.

That’s really cool. I actually stopped using thunderbird a while ago and stick solely to the gmail homepage because I got tired of it. Having it open in a new tab or window is a lot easier when using key shortcuts to go back and forth.

That’s a pretty cool add-on, I think that I’d definitely want to use something like that if I still used a separate email client (which used to be Thunderbird) - these days I’m just liking accessing Google Mail wherever I am through their great AJAX-based interface.

Great functionality. I’ll choose it over IE anytime;)
