System Protect: Cool Sidekick To Your Antivirus

Sometimes even though you’ve got regularly updated antivirus and antispyware programs installed, something still gets through. When you get hit with a virus, there’s a danger that critical system files could be deleted or modified along with other files by the infection.

There’s an easy way to make sure none of your files get hit. System Protect is a free application for Windows 2000, 2003, XP, and Vista that will guard your system and personal files by preventing deletion or modification of any file or folder without your permission.

It’s recommended that you run this program alongside your antivirus apps as the program is not an antivirus solution.

System Protect gives you different levels of protection to choose from. You can set the application to automatically deny any deletion/modification attempt, deny and generate a report, or ask you before every file deletion or modification.

While you could just create different user profiles in Windows with different access controls, this is still a useful app to make sure that your files don’t get accidentally deleted or modified.

Other features include automatic updates, multi-language support, and free support. All that for a free application? Now that’s a sweet deal.
