Vista SP1 Prerequisite Updates Cause Endless Reboot For Some
Even before the official release of Vista service pack 1, problems are already cropping up as a growing number of users are complaining that the 2 latest prerequisite updates have rendered their computers unusable.
The latest 2 updates are required before SP1 can be installed sometime in March. The 2 updates which were delivered through Windows Updates, would either cause an endless reboot on some systems, or cause the computer to not boot at all.
Some users on the Microsoft support forums have said that the solution was to boot the computer from the Vista DVD and select “Run Startup Repair” Another problem, is that the people who bought their computers or laptops with Vista preloaded usually don’t have a physical copy of the DVD.
As I’m still using XP, I don’t have to worry about this. How about you guys? Have any of you experienced this problem?

Selling a computer that contains an operating system that costs a lot of money to own and failing to provide an installation disk, is one of the most unethical computing practices I can imagine. Why do people put up with this?
I will never buy a preinstalled system again. I got burned on that before, and the end result was discovering Linux. I just got a new computer that was shipped with no OS. Why? Because I refuse to buy Vista.

I like Fiar’s comment. When I bought my last computer, it came with a preinstalled WinXP. I would rather have had the original disk! I’ll just stick with dual booting XP and Linux. I’d love to have a mac, but they are just too expensive. My next computer will be built from scratch

@Madhur:

I agree buddy
@Nirmal:
I think that’s the best way buddy hehe
@mymytri:
I’m sticking with XP
@jsanderz:
You and me both
@Fiar:
That’s true. Most are content with having the .cab files on their hard drive. It’s always better to have the install disk as well.
