Firefox 3 Beta 3 Released
Those of you who’ve been using the Firefox 3 beta might want to upgrade. Firefox 3 Beta 3 is now available for download. A look at the release notes shows that beta 3 has 1,300 changes from the previous beta. That number convinced me to try out the latest beta.
Unlike my previous experience with beta 2, Firefox 3 Beta 3 seemed to perform faster. Theme updates for all platforms have been implemented. You’ll notice right away that the back and forward buttons have been combined into a single widget. Looks good. Mac OS X and Linux versions of the new back button will follow.

Linux users will be happy with the integrated theme with native icons.

There are lot of improvements in this version but I’m sorry to say that I’ll be going back to trusty Firefox 2. Why? Take a look at this screenshot:

Almost all my extensions weren’t compatible. I don’t know about you guys but I can’t live without my extensions heh.
How about you? Are you willing to use Beta 3 without most of your extensions?

Mate you can use the Nightly Tester Tools extension to force compatibility for the extensions to work with FF3. It may not work with every extension but many extensions will work properly if you use nightly tester tools
. BTW I can see that there are still long standing bugs in this version they have not bothered to fix

Hey buddy.. I am loving the beta 3 as well and just wrote about how you can use your old extensions with just a couple of about:config tweaks. As Jawwad mentioned, that extension would be right up that alley as well.

Looks pretty cool, but I can’t live without my extensions (even though I don’t have near as many as you do)!

@Tay:
I tried using K’s method of getting the extensions to work with beta 3 and it worked like a charm. Now I’m using beta 3 with all my extensions yay!

As much as I want to try out the Firefox 3 Betas I can’t because of the extensions. I don’t know what I’ll do without them.
I’ll just have to wait until Firefox 3 is released as a stable version.

Jawwad’s and K’s method both work to get your extensions to work in beta 3.

It looks cool but it might be best to wait until it is out of beta and the compatability issues are sorted.
