Make3D: Turn Your Photos Into Virtual Worlds



Most of you have photos that would be real interesting if you could fly around them. What am I talking about? Imagine turning your vacation photos into 3D worlds. Sound good? Here’s the kicker, you can do it for free.

Developed by Stanford’s Ashutosh Saxena, Min Sun, and Andrew Y. Ng, Make3D is a great tool that will turn your photograph into a 3D model. You’ll be able to walk around your picture using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Just upload your images and wait for the conversion to finish. Once it’s done, you can download your new 3D photo to your hard drive.

Make3D works best when converting landscape-style images. You’ll need the Adobe Shockwave Player to view your images in 3D.
