Brown Batch #38: Link Love Fiesta

Doing a link post that highlights interesting posts by other bloggers is one of my favorite things. Why? Simply put, it’s another way of acknowledging fantastic authors and their works. It’s also a great way of making friends
.
Let’s get this fiesta started.
This week’s Brown Batch are:
- Revellian dot Com - Why I’m Not A Money Blogger
We, the blogging masses have all the real power, which is universal friendship. Friendships free from the constraints of religious, political and geographical separation. This is the most incredible attribute inherent to this technology. When you throw money into the mix, it changes things.
- TechYard - HotSpotShield - Protect Your Computer In Public Wi-Fi HotSpots
Sure the world is going wireless, so is the need for security in the wireless transmissions. Most public hotspots are unsecured, This does not secure the data transmission or prevent packet sniffers from allowing people to see traffic on the network.
- Randa Clay Design - Building trust with clients - being honest about mistakes
Are you familiar with the “ohnosecond”? It’s that brief fraction of a second when you suddenly realize you’ve made a BIG mistake. Your heart drops into your stomach and you pound your head on your desk hoping you’ll get a concussion and have to go to the hospital rather than deal with the consequences of your oversight.
- Pinoy Tech Guy - Taking Down Notes On Your Computer
Whether it’s for assignments, projects or even just a blog post, we usually find snippets, pictures and links, note taking is both useful and essential. Ever had the experience of trying to remember that the impromptu assignment that your boss sent you on your IM but cant?
- Madhur Kapoor - Reveal Hidden Asterisks Password Using Revelation
There are many times when we save some password in the computer and forget. The password is in front of us in the form of asterisks but we don’t remember it.
- ShanKri-la - Run Google Calendar In Your Firefox Sidebar
Google Calendar has to be the second popular Google’s suite of offerings after Gmail when it comes to productivity. You can now run Google Calendar right from your sidebar if you are using Firefox (could possibly work for other browsers as well).
