Dilectio: Smashing Free WordPress Theme
Looking for a new theme for your blog to start the new year? Take a look at this one.
Dilectio by Design Disease is a free 3 column WordPress theme that’s perfect for those looking for a cross between a blog and a magazine. If you’ve been looking for a theme that isn’t predominantly white but still has that ‘professional’ vibe, this is it.

I like this theme, but I think it is a little bright.
Definitely shows the authors design talent.

Heh it is a little bright

Ah this looks like a good theme
But one question though, it is optimized for SEO purposes? If it’s a great seo theme, then i’m all crazed about it

Awesome design! I love it, Brown. The trick with using a free theme is to find something that isn’t too popular but still works and looks good.

even I am impressed with it but honestly by this time many people would have started using it. I would go for a custom design this year for sure. But need to hunt for a desinger

[…] Dilectio: Smashing Free WordPress Theme - Brown Thoughts highlighted this fabulous new theme by Design Disease. It is somewhat of a cross between a blog and a magazine - probably the sharpest theme I’ve seen in a long time! […]

It’s nice indeed, but one needs to know if this is optimized foe SEO, that being the most important.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that the links section is on the righthand side of the blog. I like to post my sites and for SEO purposes, its better to have them on the left.

I liked the look of this theme, though I am not a big fan of tabbed view (comments, latest posts etc come as tabs) of what otherwise whould have been proper blocks.

Overall th theme is nice. I would place the adsense below the blog name and reduce the orange just a little bit.

The layout looks cool. The only thing lacking is the WEB 2.0 plugins.
July 11th, 2008 15:02
I do like this theme, because it is clean, and easy to read. For some of the other comments, if you so a search, you can find simple coding hacks that you can do to the template to tweak it just enough to make it your own.
worse case senario, all you need to do is a re install of the template from the copy you have.

This is a good looking theme. If you would just change the affiliate ads to those that have animated gifs, it would make the site look more interactive.
