Tray Task: Clean Up Your Windows Task Bar

For anyone who spends a considerable amount of time on the computer, this situation should sound familiar. You have at least half a dozen applications running like your media player, windows explorer, your browser, notepad, instant messaging client, and your desktop feed reader. If you’re like me, you’ll probably open a few more programs and your Windows taskbar will be full of minimized apps.

Nothing wrong with that really except it doesn’t look clean. If you want a clutter-free task bar even when you’re running a ton of applications, I’ve got just the thing for you.

Tray Task is a free application that will let you remove any program from the Windows task bar and store it under a popup menu on the TrayTask tray icon. Right-clicking on the icon will display all the programs.

If you accidentally close Tray Task while the programs are hidden, the applications will automatically return to the task bar.

There’s no installation required. Just one executable file. It’s also free.
