12 Of YouTube’s Greatest Hits
![[YouTube Logo Big]](http://www.brownbaron.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/youtube_logobig.png)
PC World has published a list called ‘Greatest Hits Of Viral Video‘ which are videos that have been extremely popular on YouTube. While I would agree with most of their choices, I’ve decided to make my own list.
You’ve probably seen all of these, but it’s fun to see them all in one place.
Update: I’ve published the second part of this series called YouTube’s Greatest Hits Part 2
Diet Coke/Mentos Experiment - Brought about by an eighth grade Science experiment, this video is still getting thousands of views today.
Back Dorm Boys - Chinese students Wei Wei and Huang Yi Xin’s lip-synched video landed them jobs as representatives for Motorolla.
Chad Vader - Darth Vader’s younger brother is also a Sith Lord but works as a day shift manager at a grocery.
‘Thriller’ Dance Video - Performed by inmates of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines, the video still gets a lot of traffic today.
Ask A Ninja - Everyone knows this guy.
Newscast Gone Wrong - When it’s your first time on the sports desk and the teleprompter breaks, you’re in big trouble.
Monty Python - Black Knight - Persistence is key heh.
Christmas Lights - I wonder what his electric bill looks like.
Laughing Baby - If this doesn’t put a smile on your face, nothing will.
South Park Mac vs. PC - One of the best Mac vs PC videos.
Dramatic Chipmunk - You can’t make a list of videos without this one.
Talking Dogs - Sounds good to me heh.
What would your list look like?

@Caribbean:
The laughing baby is one of my all time favorites. Makes me smile every time

Awesome compilation Baron.
The video about the inmates was taken here at our place. Haha. Did you know that all of them got paid Php1,500 each for good behavior. Just an extra info. That’s around $33 if converted.
The baby in the video was kinda wacked. haha

@McBilly:
1,500 pesos for good behavior? Haha that’s new. You’re in Cebu? I’m in Metro Manila

Very nice, Baron! I’ve only seen two of these. The rest are just too good.
Bad Sportscast: oh man, poor guy! Were his ears glowing red with embarrassment? I would have just gotten up and opened a can of whoop-A on the teleprompter guy. Boy howdy!
Black Knight: It simply amazes me how talented people, not just with their skills to edit this thing, but to think of it!
Laughing baby: too cute. Nuff said!
Christmas Light: ohhh…myyy…gosshhhh. Looks like I have to come up with something else for decorating my house this year.

Haha you know I don’t even think I have 1/10th the amount of Christmas lights that guy has.
The Black Knight video always gives me a good laugh. I wish I could come up with something like that

I would include Matt Harding’s dancing travel videos where he danced at different spots in many different countries.

Those are all awesome, I’ve seen most of them, my favorite is the crazy menthos guys. I didn’t see you post any of Chris Crocker, rofl. If you haven’t heard of him he’s this umm…guy who is famous for defending Britney Spears, and he’s got his own special reality tv show in the works. Hahahaha…
You gotta love You Tube.

Loved the baby. I have found similar video, where baby laughs so hard that is falls on it’s back
Mentos and Coke - priceless.
Inmates dancing - they do it as a part of their exercising routine. Warden wanted to do something different then just walking around the yard. He sure made it different
Monty Python = Priceless

YouTubeRobot.com today announces YouTube Robot 2.0, a tool that enables you to download video from YouTube.com onto your PC, convert it to various formats to watch it when you are on the road on mobile devices like mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune.
YouTube Robot allows you to search for videos using keywords or browse video by category, author, channel, language, tags, etc. When you find something noteworthy, you can preview the video right in YouTube Robot and then download it onto the hard disk drive. The speed, at which you will be downloading, is very high: up to 5 times faster than other software when you download a single file and up to 4 times faster when you download multiple files at a time.
Manual download is not the only option with YouTube Robot. You may as well schedule the download and conversion tasks to be executed automatically, even when you are not around. Downloading is followed by conversion to the format of your choice and uploading videos to a mobile device (if needed). For example, you can plug in iPod, select the video, go to bed, and when you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos.
