YouTube Launches Multi-Video Uploads, File Limits Increased To 1 Gig
The YouTube Blog has just announced the release of a desktop uploader that lets users upload multiple videos in one batch for Windows users. Each video can now be up to 1 GB in size, a big jump from the previously set file size limit of 100 MB. A Mac version for the desktop uploader is still in the works.
All uploaded videos can be seen in your ‘My Videos’ page, although videos with bigger file sizes may take some time before they appear on the page.
The maximum length remains at 10 minutes, only the file size limit has increased. This means that we’ll be seeing more high quality videos added to the site.

This is great. I remember I had shot Independence day videos with my Canon Power shot on July 4th and Youtube would not allow me to upload it since it was more than 100MB.
I have to use the Google Video service to do that, but this will definitely help and is a feature I was waiting since a long time.

You Tube is awesome, although I don’t think I’ll be uploading any videos soon, lol.
I wonder what the Internet will be like ten years from now.

It will be good to see some high quality videos. I think they are not incresing the video length to prevent people from uploading tv shows etc.

I am curious to know how much bandwidth YouTube must have. Seriously, I’d love to go into their server room and see how many machines they have set up in there.

YouTubeRobot.com today announces YouTube Robot 2.0, a tool that enables you to download video from YouTube.com onto your PC, convert flv files to various video formats to watch it when you are on the road on mobile devices like mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune.
YouTube Robot allows you to search for videos using keywords or browse video by category, author, channel, language, tags, etc. When you find something noteworthy, you can preview the video right in YouTube Robot and then download it onto the hard disk drive. The speed, at which you will be downloading, is very high: up to 5 times faster than other software when you download a single file and up to 4 times faster when you download multiple files at a time.
Manual download is not the only option with YouTube Robot. You may as well schedule the download and conversion tasks to be executed automatically, even when you are not around. Downloading is followed by conversion to the format of your choice and uploading videos to a mobile device (if needed). For example, you can plug in iPod, select the video, go to bed, and when you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos.
