Microsoft Releases Windows Live Desktop Suite
Microsoft Windows Live has taken off its beta tag and is now officially available as a free desktop suite. The Windows Live Desktop Suite includes 6 applications, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Writer, toolbar, and OneCare Family Safety. Use of these tools require a Live ID.
The install page lets you select which applications to install and provides a brief description of each app.

Windows Live Calendar and Skydrive still remain in beta and will be released as final versions at a later date. Microsoft will continue to release new Windows Live beta services over the next year.
This makes the bundle of Windows Live applications a direct competitor to Google’s Desktop apps.
Which one will you choose?
