Leopard Blue Screen Ignites Debate

Just hours after the release of Leopard, users started complaining about a BSOD (blue screen of death) that would appear after running the default upgrade option. The blue screen would block the required restart after installation thereby locking users out of their affected computers.
Apple’s setup forum was quickly flooded with messages from outraged users. One user mentioned that Unsanity’s APE (application enhancer) which was required to run ShapeShifter, was causing the blue screens. Instructions on manually deleting the APE to force the computer to restart were posted.
Some users reported that the manual delete fixed the blue screens but Unsanity’s Rosyna Keller said that the blue screens couldn’t have been caused by the APE. Keller went on to say:
“The only possible way APE could even remotely, theoretically be involved is if they are using an over two-year-old version of APE (1.5.1 or 1.5, May, 2005).”
Apple thinks differently though. A look at Apple’s support database shows that a possible solution to the blue screen problem was to delete the APE.

I’ll update sometime at the beginning of next year. I am looking forward to the Time Machine and quite a few other features this one offers. I think over 100 change were made. I’m hoping to get to the Apple Store this week so I can see how it operates afterwards I’ll write a review about it on my mac website.

I think the Time Machine is a killer feature. The other new features seem great too. I just wish we Windows users could get a useful OS just once

It won’t be too much longer before I switch to a Mac! A good friend of mine lets me play around on hers. It’s freaking awesome.
If Microsoft had just continued developing XP instead of going with Vista - they would be going places.
