TasteBook: Create Your Own Custom Cookbooks

Tastebook Logo

TasteBook is a new service that lets you search from over 25,000 recipes, archive recipes you downloaded from other sites, and share them with your friends and family online. The most interesting feature they offer, is that you can make your own hardcover cookbook. You can then give it to friends or sell it.

TasteBook will let you take recipes from different sites and add them to your own cookbooks. You can browse through other members’ cookbooks and get recipes you like.

What sets them apart however, is that you can take any cookbook you made on the site and have it printed out.

Creating an account is free. Having your cookbook printed out is not.

High five to Alan Henry.

    Wow, I did not know about this one. Being able to create your own custom cookbook is a very nice feature.

    I like to collect recipes and currently have a nice little stack of paper printouts and a rather haphazard collection of files and folders that I have downloaded from various places.

    This TasteBook idea (or some similar service) would allow me to consolidate lots of recipes in one place, which could be an advantage in terms of organization.

    @Karl:
    I think their best feature is offering to convert users’ cookbooks into hard bound books. Great idea :grin:

    I have found that cooking really isn’t very difficult; it seems to flow naturally from my affinity for flavorful, high quality meals.

    If you actually have a recipe or cookbook on hand, then it’s just a matter of properly following directions, much like replicating an experiment in a chemistry lab.

    On the other hand, if you’re trying to cook without any sort of recipe, then this will require a little more knowledge and creativity to make something really good. However, with experience it is certainly possible to make restaurant quality meals for much less money than it would cost to actually go out to a restaurant and purchase the same meals.
