A Brown Look At Darn Good Reviews dot Com

It’s been a few months since I started the Brown Look review. Just to remind everyone, Brown Look reviews are free. Ready? Here we go.

Darn Good Reviews

Darn Good Reviews was created by my good friend Mark who decided it would be better to separate review posts from his main blog, Me And My Drum. As you can see from the logo, Mark has undeniable skill with graphic design. The logo establishes the site’s vibe from the start - good clean fun reviews.

The Layout

Darn Good Reviews Main Page

Darn Good Reviews uses a magazine style layout with the latest review featured prominently at the top while older articles are presented as excerpts at the bottom. I think Mark made the right decision with regard to design as the current layout is easy to navigate and takes a step away from the common look most blogs have.

The sidebar is uncluttered and anyone looking for specific reviews should have an easy time as the search box and category list are easily found.

The Articles

Reviews at Darn Good Reviews are not only well written, they’re incredibly fun to read too. Mark reviews a wide range of sites and services that include protecting your family, teaching English to children, and travel tips.

Recommendations

The only thing missing is a contact form. Other than that, the site is just right (hey that rhymes heh).

Conclusion

Darn Good Reviews is brand spanking new and I’m sure Mark is busy tweaking the design as I’m writing this. What’s remarkable is the fact that I felt right at home the first time I visited the site. Would I recommend it? You bet.
