Soundsnap: Royalty-Free Sound Files
If you’re looking for royalty-free sound files and loops, you’re in luck. Soundsnap is a free online database of public domain sound clips and effects that have been tagged, categorized, and uploaded by users.
Sounds files are separated in 16 categories and users can search for audio files by using tag cloud to see the most popular files. All files have a preview and users can download them in mp3, wav, and aiff format.

Soundsnap members have their own tag cloud, are able to display their work on their profile, and keep a list of their favorites.
High five to Josh Lowensohn.
