Apple Sets Leopard Launch For October 26

Apple has finally announced that the launch of Mac OS X Leopard is scheduled for October 26. Apple has promised that Leopard comes with 300+ new features. Now that’s how you release a new OS, unlike others (cough Vista). Don’t get me wrong, I’m a happy XP user heh.

The first thing you’ll notice is Leopard’s new dock and the new file stacks feature. Stacks are dock items that give users easy access to folders and files. Creating a stack is as simple as dragging folders to the right side of the dock.

Mac users who regularly use Windows apps will be happy to know that Boot Camp is now included Leopard.

Another interesting feature is Quick Look which gives users a sneak peek of images, text files, PDF documents, movies, Keynote presentations, Mail attachments, and Microsoft Word and Excel files without having to open them.

The full list of new features can be found on the 300 page.

    I’ve been waiting for this release. I was a bit bummed that they held off it was supposed to be released this summer I’ll pick it up next month. I’m fascinated with the Time Machine it has it’s own vault system for backups. That’s niiiiiceeee!!!!!

    @Opal:
    I like the way the time machine works. Maybe Bill will steal that and include it in Windows Seven hehehe

    It looks really nice, but do Apple need to release another operating system, and like Vista will many people actually buy it?
    Just a thought.
    Like you Brownbaron I am happy with XP.
    Don’t get me wrong I love trying new OS but having to change your drivers etc again is a real pain.

    @jsanderz:
    I agree buddy. I just wish they’d release service packs which would upgrade the OS in stages hehe
