Discovery Acquires HowStuffWorks.com For $250 Million
Discovery Communications Inc. will be acquiring HowStuffWorks.com for $250 million. A WSJ article reports that Discovery will use HowStuffWorks to aid in its effort to bring Discovery’s impressive video library to the Web.
With an estimated 11 million users worldwide with 3.8 unique visitors from the U.S. every month, HowStuffWorks’ integration with Discovery is sure to outperform the latter’s poorly performing sites.
Discovery Chief Executive David Zaslav, stated:
We’re way behind in new media and digital. I don’t think we win just by building vertically.”
HowStuffWorks will also be incorporated in Discovery’s future programming.

I think that’s a pretty cool deal! The site will have a lot to offer! I just wish they’d send me a measly 100 grand
