Windows XP Service Pack 3 Will Include Vista Features
Neosmart Technologies has mentioned that Windows XP SP3 build 3205, will include features backported from Vista. SP3 was supposedly released to beta testers on Sunday.
Some of the new features include a kernel module with several encryption algorithms accessible by third party developers, a new activation module that doesn’t require a product key, and Network Access Protection (NAP), a feature included with Windows Vista, that inspects client computers before they access a corporate network.
After the announcement that Windows XP would get a 5 month reprieve, it seems that Microsoft is trying to prolong XP’s life as much as possible.

Smart move by Microsoft. Vista is clearly better, but not so much better that people want to upgrade.
I think this is a great idea!

@Kyle:
I agree buddy. Maybe Windows Seven will actually be like XP was to 98

Looks like Microsoft is getting to know that Vista is not doing that good. So why not make XP better? Atleast they can make money.
as I am heavily dependent on windows..
Well I am not Anti-Microsoft..

Does it mean XP is going to get all the annoying alerts that Vista users seem to complain often about?
Maybe you could turn them off but it’ll take another blog post from you to show me how.

@K:
Haha I hope we don’t get all those alerts

This is a good move by Microsoft, when is it getting released?
October 11th, 2007 17:28
@Nirmal:
It’s still in private beta so we might see it before the end of the year

Windows XP needed a SP3 and I think it’s a great move by Microsoft. Specially, when Vista still has so many bugs.

@Haris:
I’m still sticking with XP

Brown now u are scaring me.As it is Vista is a terrible software and windows XP is far more better than Vista and now by reading this post i think i will never try to implement Service Pack 3.
I dunno what more Microsoft will do to promote the highly ignored operating system(read Vista). I guess they are just trying to force us to upgrade to Vista.
What my suggestion is that they should try to improve Vista and not backtrack
Cheers
Abhishek
