Asterpix: Create Interactive Videos For Your Site
Have you ever wished that you could insert more information in the videos that you embed on your blog? Maybe you’d like your home videos to be interactive. Asterpix is a free online service that will let you create hypervideos for your website, blog, and home videos.
Asterpix lets you create hotspots on your video that when clicked, pauses the video and opens a window within the video with more information. Users can also add links to the video which will take the user to the specified URL.

You can annotate any object within the video by adding notes to it. the object will be tracked until it leaves the scene. Objects which have added notes can be identified by the flashing circle on it during playback.
Sharing your hyperactive videos can be done by embedding it onto your site or blog, using the “share” button on the video player, or by pasting the URL into an email or instant message.

Detailed instructions for creating, sharing, and embedding the videos can be found on the main page. Want to see an actual video? Here you go.

Hyperactive videos!? I feel like I’m living in the future! Maybe I should do one of me eating a hot dog. … I swear Brown, if there was a “word of the day” - Today, it would be hot dog.

I just saw this on another website! I thought it was fascinating. I have a lot of videos the only problem is I need to find a software that does not change the quality too much. I edit in Final Cut Express HD but the files are still large when I’m finished. I was not fond of YouTube but I might have to go that route on the bright side that could “potentially” bring additional traffic to my website posting videos there.

I can see technology like this working in with TV in the very near future. As soon as the TV becomes the main internet connected appliance in the house then this hyper TV concept will become widespread.
I can see it now “Oh, I love that dress that Eva Longoria is wearing at the award ceremony” Click “Ahh i see, 300 dollars and they can deliver it next week” Click. Orderd

@Opal:

I agree. YouTube is another potential source of good traffic for your site
@Steve:
I think you just hit the bullseye. It does seem like the logical next step.
