Brown Talk #20: Community Day Sunday

While I’d be happy to keep posting regular articles every day of the week, I really appreciate Sundays on Brown Thoughts as it helps everybody get to know more about each other in our community post.
If this is your first time here, Sunday means that there’s only one open post for anyone to talk about anything they want. You can drop by to say hi or rant about your week, or just talk about anything that comes to mind.
Nothing is off-topic.
Now that October’s officially started, are you thinking back on the goals you set for yourself at the start of this year?
This post is all yours

My goal at the beginning of the year was to make a little extra money throughout the year, and I’ve made that goal and then some.
I had no idea that within a year, I’d be working on more than a dozen different blogs, working with such a great group of people throughout the Internet, and would get to schmooze with some many talented people. This has all been a total bonus in my opinion.
I have far exceeded my expectations with my intended goals for the year. No matter how much I do next year, I’ll never be able to compare it to this one.

@Christine:
Now that’s great. You actually have a one year buffer now haha. Next year will be a walk in the park.

I hope so. I’ve had so much fun this year that next year could send me to the funny farm. LOL
My goals for this past year were:
A.) run a successful blog (done)
B.) earn a little extra money (done)
C.) lean more about the blogging game (done-never ending)
D.) become an active member of the blogging community (done)
I’m going to have to set real goals for next year. LOLOLOL

I am now A+ certified!!!! I am now studying for my CompTIA Linux+ certification. This is a very difficult test. I think it’s much harder than an MCSE certification test.
I love Linux and am looking forward to working in this area! I have come nowhere close to my goals this year!!!! Everytime I accomplish one thing, 20 new ones are born!

@Bobby:
Haha I know what you mean
Good luck on your certification!

You know the usual world domination plot but somehow it’s taking a bit longer than I expected. I should have seen a hole in my scheme from the beginning since I can’t even gain control over my toddlers half of the time.

@AntiBarbie:
Haha kind of hard to focus on world domination when you’re being dominated

Hmm…I’m a few days later but this month I’ve promised myself to take more time our, during the day, for my daughter. It’s actually working. It’s hard since I do work from home but I’m very happy that I’m managing to do this. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up.
In regards to my goals that I set at the beginning of the year I’m on track for the goals I set for myself business wise but I do think personally I need to take more time for “me”. It’s hard I put so much time time in my daughter/work at times it does not leave much left over for me, lol. I’m working on that!

@Opal:
I know what you mean about having more “me” time. You always plan having some quality time with yourself but something always comes along
