Uncyclopedia: Totally False, Totally Fun

If you’re tired of getting all the facts from Wikipedia, it’s time to visit a different Wiki with no content. Uncyclopedia looks and feels like Wikipedia with one glaring difference. All the information presented is false.

The welcome message on the main page describes the site as “the content-free encyclopedia that anyone can edit, unless the server goes down, in which case no-one can edit.”

Keeping yourself from laughing is almost impossible as you read all the nonsense articles presented in a matter of fact manner. You’ll easily spend hours laughing as you browse through the articles. Take a look at this article:

Here’s an excerpt from the next section:

Discovery of the Disease

Stupendous Tropical Meningitis was discovered in 1897 by scientist and existentialist philosopher Grenwauld H. Jeeves II. Although he lacked the medical equipment to observe the virus, he observed its spreading and effects as it killed 34 members of the Caribbean village of Malton, in which he lived.

Ever the scientist-philosopher, he maintained that, since everyone was going to die anyway, nothing he did mattered in the long run. As per this, he did nothing to help the natives, making sure they knew that it was “for their own good”.

Now that’s something new heh. Just don’t make the mistake of pointing your kids to Uncyclopedia for their research :mrgreen: .

    I wonder how many people aren’t going to realize it’s a spoof and take everything at face value. :twisted:

    I checked what Uncyclopedia describes as the characteristics of ‘bloggers’:
    * Due to their fragile mental state, bloggers can readily be identified online by their sub-normal writing ability, constant and pervasive paranoia, fondness for wildly implausible conspiracy theories (favourites include the Kennedy Assassination, Area 51 and the notorious Al-Qaeda Superbowl “Wardrobe Malfunction” Plot) and severely under-developed sense of irony and/or humour.
    * In person, bloggers can easily be singled out due to their over-evolved buttocks (see J-Lo Syndrome), surplus body hair and incontinence. In addition, a blogger will tend to stand out at social occasions - he’ll be the one frantically taking notes on a potato chip to write up later for that day’s post.
    * In a survey conducted by the BBC, Blogging is the #2 activity of really sad people, next only to admittedly voting for Bush

    That’s not too far off, is it ? :mrgreen:

    Well its Friday that’s coming up and this made me :grin: enough.

    Ideas are galore and there is just a need to use and do something that has not been done yet, but how many people will start telling up lies yet?

    @AntiBarbie:
    Haha can you imagine the kind of reports kids would submit from this site? :mrgreen:

    @Jos:
    Lol I should stop writing on potato chips

    @Mark:
    I think that the banner was a sign from up top hehehe

    @teeni:
    I wish I thought of it first too :lol:

    That is absolutely hilarious. I wish there was some kind of way to discover how many people stumble into articles direct from Google and then thinking the information is accurate. :grin:

    I am SO having a BLAST with Uncyclopedia. I gotta love one of the definitions for “Mother”: a person who creates moths for a living, much like how a lawyer invents laws for a living. :mrgreen:
