File Extensions.org: Know Your Files

File Extensions LogoEver come across a file with an extension you weren’t familiar with? Sure you could ask Google, but what if I told you there was another way? File Extensions.org is a massive list of file extensions with detailed information of different file types and what they’re used for.

File extensions are listed in 29 different categories including most visited file extensions, binary files, audio and music files, graphics files, settings files, unknown files extensions, etc. Users can submit file extensions that haven’t been listed on the site.

Selecting a file extension brings you to a page with specific details on the file and what types of programs use it. Information on how to open or access the file is also displayed. Conversion and backup options are provided.
