ZoneAlarm ForceField Beta Ready For Download
Check Point Software has just released a beta version of its new browser security solution for IE and Firefox. Available for download on ZoneAlarm’s site, ForceField uses a virtualization engine to protect users’ browsers while they’re surfing the web.
Check Point’s consumer division general manager, Laura Yecies, said:
“We’re using the concept of virtualization, but rather than virtualizing the entire machine, we’re just doing a precision virtualization. Because it’s two-way, ForceField also protects the browser from anything bad on the computer.”

Aside from the virtualized browser, ForceField includes an anti-keylogger, file download checker, siteblocker, and signature and heuristic-based anti-phishing.
ForceField’s difference from GreenBorder, is that users can let their downloaded files reach the physical hard drive.
The application supports IE6 and 7, Firefox1.x and 2.x, and runs on Windows XP and Vista. The final version is set for early 2008, and will be priced at $29.95. Those of you who are interested in trying ForceField now while it’s still free can head over to the download page.

GreenBorder allowed downloaded files reach the physical hard drive, so I don’t see the difference there…
