ScreenStream: Let Others Watch While You Work
Have you ever tried explaining computer stuff to your friends and wished that they could see your screen? ScreenStream is a free application that will allow other people to watch your screen and listen to you talk over a network, or over the internet.
Users running the free software can send the link and an optional access code to their friends, relatives, and students, who can then watch the stream in their browsers.

Only the person doing the streaming will need to install ScreenStream. No software is needed by people who just want to “watch”. ScreenStream can run in the background while capturing your screen even if you’re using another program. To stop the stream, just turn off screen sharing.

You can use ScreenStream for online lectures, presentations, video conferences, and even as a remote assistance application by letting others watch what you do, or watch what they are doing.
ScreenStream runs on Windows XP/2003/Vista. Mac and Linux users will still be able to view the streams, just not install the app.

This looks pretty cool, Baron. Let me ask what may be a stupid question. Could this be used to record the stream for later use for, say, a tutorial or something?

I’m going to have to check that out. I currently use GoToMy PC just for myself to work on clients PCs and my own when I’m out of town. But the functionality here is very interesting.

@Ad Tracker:
I looked around the site but couldn’t find an answer to your question. Probably not
@Dana:
I was surprised at the possibilities too. I’m going to tell some of my relatives to download this. This should make family tech support easier heh.

I’d probably get in big trouble if people saw what I was actually doing on screen, ha ha ha!

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. It should cut down on a lot of time and frustration that comes from helping people out with their computers while you’re talking them through it over the phone.
Bobby, that gives me so many ideas for pranks and such. Imagine when someone really does you wrong. Now you can send them a link so they can “watch” you delete all their pictures and such from your computer. Need to erase someone from your online life? Now they can watch you do it!
LOL.

@Bobby:

Lol. If I ever did a stream, all people would see is me going through different blogs. They’d probably wonder when I would write a post heh.
@Aaron:
Hmm that would probably be the start of the “Dear John” videos
