Google Reader Escapes From The Lab
After Google Reader finally got a search feature added, you could tell that it was the start of major changes. The official Reader blog has just announced that Google Reader and Google Labs are parting ways. The Reader is now a standalone application. The announcement also mentioned new language sites for Reader, French and Japanese.
For those who were able to view Google’s leaked video before it was removed, this move seems to confirm the opinion that Google intends to integrate its set of applications with Google Reader.
Nick Baum stated on the official announcement:
Today is a big day for us. We learned to speak some new languages. And frankly, you don’t translate well. But we both speak English, and we know that “u” and “I” are far apart in the alphabet. We’re farther in real life.
It’s not you. It’s us.
I’m still waiting for them to add folders to Gmail heh.

I just cannot see myself using anything but Bloglines. It’s so fast and simple, I think Google reader is a pain.
