A Screensaver That’s Out Of This World

With all the available screensavers that are free to download, it’s hard to find ones that really stand out. This particular screensaver is interesting because it shows a revolving globe while highlighting the biggest cities and displaying information about them.

The Cities of Earth 3D is a free 3D screensaver that lets you add cities to the default collection, and any data that you want to include. The cities are positioned according the their actual coordinates, and the day and night cycles are calculated from your computer’s time.

The mouse wheel controls the zoom, and the arrow keys control the camera’s vertical position. It would have been much better if the city data also showed how much spammers there were in every location  .
