Brown Batch #21: Link Love Fiesta

The weekend is almost over which means it’s time to list some interesting posts by other bloggers. If you can, try and visit each one. I’m sure the authors would love to see you there.

You Make Me Smile AwardI’d like to thank my buddy Jos for giving me the You Make Me Smile Award that was created by Bridget of “…And Miles To Go Before We Sleep…“. The official description mentions “wonderful people with wonderful stories to tell”. Now that’s one sweet award.

I’d like to pass this award to the following blogs that always makes me smile.

Mark of Me And My Drum

Christy of Writer’s Reviews

Bobby of Revellian.com

Mike of Ordinary Folk

Bush of BushMackel.com

Vincent of VincentChow.net

Here’s this week’s Brown Batch:

  • Babble Soft - Do Parents Make Better Managers?
  • According to new research, parents–at least those committed to family life–actually perform better in the office. Researchers from Clark University and the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, N.C., interviewed 347 managers and executives, mostly from large public companies, about their family lives.

  • Matt Blancarte - The Web Development Arsenal
  • Although I am still a newbie among most web developers, I have many basic skills in designing and coding websites. Many of my skills can be attributed to the intuitiveness of the software I use. At this point, I am much stronger when I use a WYSIWYG editor than if I am writing plain css code.

Why am I even writing this article? To motivate you to make some money online, of course! I have written a few articles covering two small streams of income I generate, and a common response is “it’s not detailed enough.”

  • TechTornado - Google Aims For The Stars
  • Google has just announced plans for its latest addition to the multi-billion dollar company. This new application to Google Earth will allow users to view the nights sky and far-away constellations and planets. The application will allow users to navigate there way though 100 million stars and will also label which stars make up which constellations.

  • Shankar Ganesh - 3 Simple Tips To Gain More RSS Readers
  • RSS icons - there are loads and loads of them but people fail to put them in a good place on their sidebars. The best thing to do would be to place the icon on top right - most people who subscribe to your content can do that straight away.

  • Sizlopedia - Windows Live Messenger Introductory Video
  • If you say that design is the language that rules the web then Microsoft is definitely the King. Microsoft has always dominated and attracted users through the strategy of professional service design which can be clearly seen in the range of all Windows Live Products.
