What’s Next For Apple? The iCar?
Just when you thought you had all the latest gadgets you could ever want, think again.
Martin Winterkorn, head of Volkswagen, has been talking to Apple’s Steve Jobs about a possible new type of Volkswagen Beetle. The car industry speculates that the new Beetle will be an entirely new design. The iCar (unofficial name), will be a new breed of Beetles that will integrate Apple technology.
Other Tech biggies are on the same path. Microsoft and Ford will be releasing Sync, a dashboard entertainment system. BMW and Intel are working on a mobile office for its Series 7.
There are a lot of possibilities. What do you guys think?
Will Google come out with a GCar as well?
High five to Roger Boyes.

I’d much rather have Apple involved in some aspect with my car’s design than Microsoft. Have you seen those pictures of ATMs that displace crashed Windows screens? Can you image them providing software for a car?!

I’ll pass on this one, Brown..
The next Apple product I’d buy would be the iBrain
(bypassing the need of speech or phones - direct brain-to-brain communication - must have IP-blocker on that, though.)

@Robert:

Haha I agree. Microsoft should fix their operating systems first before going into something else. That should take them a good 30 years or so hehe.
@Jos:
Direct brain to brain? That would be the ultimate social network
September 1st, 2007 20:07
That would be something, right? Would also save a lot of time - but would definitely require a couple of powerfull filtering tools, lol!
(I’d like to registrer the name “iBrain”. Brown, please keep this file in case I ever need something to substantiate the claim (-:)
September 1st, 2007 22:12
@Jos:

Haha you’re going to have a lot of problems with spammers hitting the iBrain
I’ll keep a backup just in case you need it for your claim buddy
September 1st, 2007 22:48
Brain Spam — jay!
BTW, I got something for you. Come check NoDirectOn (not: NoDirection) in a little while!
September 2nd, 2007 10:43
wow I can’t believe this, I will take the wait and see approach
September 2nd, 2007 10:54
I wonder if this will have battery problems too
September 2nd, 2007 16:14
hey if that ibrain idea works, I would like to start buying some airtime or I guess I should say Brain time, just in case. Remember when a few people start buying airtime a while back before cell phone got big, and some of us thought that it some crazy idea? Imagine, what are the possibilities…

September 2nd, 2007 18:58
Hey catalystcz. I see you’re picking up fast on my new iDea
I am willing to license out (for a iDeal fee, ofcourse) the subscriptions network for iBrainTime to you or anyone with a higher iOffer. Finding people with lots of braintime to spare will be easy. iM sure.

September 2nd, 2007 21:41
Any gadget that would go on your wrist would be a good & highly marketable idea. Wouldn’t you just love not to carry (or , to put it better: not to gorget) your cell phone, for example? And every manufacturer knows this. As a bit of an insider (I worked a/o for Timex DataLink Watches - I’m sure you had one of those too, didn’t you, Brown?), I know that the battery capacity is still the main problem. I’ve seen gorgeous prototypes of all kinds of stuff to put on your wrist (including a cell phone where the watch strap would be double and could be folded open to form a micro and an speaker) , but unfortunately they all had these wires going over your arm right to you pocket that had to carry the battery… If you ever think about investing in technology funds, that would be the way to go..:)

That’s pretty sweet. I’m a Mac Momma most of my tech equipment is Mac or apple related.
September 2nd, 2007 23:29
@Jos:
.

Oh I remember Timex. I had one before
@Opal:
You’re like a signature model for Apple then
September 3rd, 2007 07:04
@BB,
Yes you could say that.
I arrived late to that party. I switched over to Mac’s in October 2006. I did purchase a HP Dv6000t. I needed the Windows OS in working with a clients project but mainly I’m on my Mac’s. My four year old daughter has laid claim to my HP and nicknamed it “Zizzy”. I think she calls my MacBook Pro “Glimmery”. I have know idea where those names came from.

Being the girl that I am the only thought I’m having is… that’s a cute car.
September 3rd, 2007 11:31
@Opal:

Haha if she named them, then that means it’s hers.
@Christy:
I bet you’re not the only one thinking that
