Brown Talk: Open Comments Batch 12
Sunday is great because I get a chance to be a regular reader instead of being the author. This means that I get a chance to get to know everyone a little better. Thanks to Matt of BAYB for giving me the idea. For those unfamiliar with open comments, this just means that you can talk about anything you want.
Nothing is off-topic.
If you can’t think of anything, here are some suggestions:
- Gadgets - What’s your favorite? Which one can’t you live without?
- Games - What kind do you like? What game has been on your computer the longest?
For all the shy people out there(like me) who come to visit but never comment, this is your chance.
This post is all yours

You know what game I have on my computer that I really like? Kudos. http://www.positech.co.uk/kudos/index.html It’s kind of boring but you can hack it up so that the characters say what you want them to, you can change the jobs, and add avatars. It’s mindless entertainment.
As for gadgets, I’m a big fan of my Creative MircoZen mp3 player. After my iPod mini died after a year (piece of garbage) I stayed as far away from Apple as possible. My sister has a 6-month-old Nano and it’s already died on her twice. Apparently, the later generation iPods don’t get much better.

I play (online) hattrick.

I’m a MMORPG sort of guy, although blogging has kind of filled that void since I quit EverQuest 2. I played EverQuest for about 5 years, had several characters at max level with epic weapons, etc.
EQ2 I was the third richest person on the server after a year, so I decided to quit and find something productive to do with my time

@Angela:
That looks pretty good!
@Valentin:
What’s that buddy?
@Kyle:
Dang that’s pretty good. Who would have thought EQ2 would prepare you for blogging haha

Awww, games. I’m a total weboggle addict. It’s a free online game that I play every chance I get. The nice thing for me is that there is no chat option, as I hate it when you’re in the middle of a game and someone decides they want to talk to you.
I’m not a big gadget freak. The only techno thingies I use on a daily basis is my pc and maybe my cell phone. Other than that, I’m technologically challenged. LOL
Hope you’re having a great day

That sounds like a game I could get addicted to.

just a random question….where do you get more traffic from Mybloglog or blogcatalog?
August 13th, 2007 06:33
I’d say my most favorite game, as well as the game that’s been on my computer the longest, would have to be Grim Fandango. You often hear of “Cult Hits,” well this is one of them, but this one, almost everyone can enjoy in one way or another.

@shaun:
For July and this month, BlogCatalog has sent me more visitors.
@urluckyday:
I’d like to take a look at that.

@Madhur:
My favorites are FPS games, RPG, strategy, and basketball games. I haven’t tried a soccer game in a long time hehe.

I missed it again! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH! DAMN YOU COMCAST!
August 13th, 2007 21:25
I have absolutely nothing useful to say but still I am compelled to leave a comment! LoL! (Just because you said we could)
Shaun: I receive more traffic from MyBlogLog because I spend more time surfing there. I think it’s the time spent at these places that brings in the traffic.
August 13th, 2007 23:14
@Bush:
You still made it buddy haha
@Christy:
Sometimes being off-topic is actually on-topic lol.

I am more as Kyle is, I love my RPG’s also I’ve played a lot of FPS ( especially Counter-Strike, darned that game) but, there was a moment in my life when I decided it’s best to just give up on gaming and start doing some serious things with my time. Thus, a blogger was born.
August 14th, 2007 03:58
@CristianR:
It looks like you gave up gaming just in time to join us here buddy
August 15th, 2007 07:56
Brown, justoutacuriosity: what does this secret spell mean that I see above the top left corner of your blog?
It looks like this: #wp_grins img { cursor: hand; }
August 15th, 2007 08:54
@Jos:
You’re probably using Internet Explorer. This blog seems to display differently on IE
August 15th, 2007 18:21
Correct, I am using IE. Here’s a screendump of BT on a 1280×800 in IE:

@Jos:
Yeah, I still haven’t been able to solve that. I’ll have to look if there’s an updated version the plugin I’m using. Thanks for reminding me!
August 15th, 2007 22:42
no problem, I was just curious what it meant. I take it that this “grins img” refers to your favicon?
August 15th, 2007 22:55
@Jos:
It’s actually the plugin that lets everyone add emoticons to their comments
August 15th, 2007 23:52
Brown Baron! You’ve just been tagged, come see here!

@Marzie:
That’s an interesting meme. I’ll have to think about my answers first heh.
August 16th, 2007 01:42
Well, it got me grinning
