Brown Talk: Open Comments Batch 11

Sunday’s here and that means I get to be a normal blog reader instead of being the author. Thanks to Matt of BAYB for giving me the idea. For those unfamiliar with open comments, this just means that you can talk about anything you want.

Nothing is off-topic.

If you can’t think of anything, here are some suggestions:

  1. Pagerank Update - Are you nervous? Excited? Couldn’t care less?
  2. 4 months left in 2007 - Any goals you’d like to reach before the year ends?

For all the shy people out there(like me) who come to visit but never comment, this is your chance.

This post is all yours :grin:

    Hmm… well I want to vent this somewhere. My blog is dead. It apparently got hacked somehow… I need to look into it. The thing is, my backups are goneish. My laptop got hit by lightning and my desktop’s hard drive failed… I guess I’ll have to wait a bit.

    You sound a little bit sad Jake .. but I can see why .
    As for the PR update , I’m not anxious at all , Google will decide my blog’s faith and I trust the Big G .
    In the 4 months I have left I’d like to triple the number of my subscribers ( at least ) and double my traffic . I’ve got high standards , I know

    For your posts, you could use Google cache to get a copy of them.
    I’m sorry about your laptop. That sounds nasty buddy :sad:

    @Cristian:
    Nothing wrong with high standards buddy. I hope you reach your goals.

    I’m hoping in the next four months to increase readership. I’m starting a new job on the 13th at a law firm, I’m kind of nervous about it.

    In the next four months I hope to broaden my spectrum on my site, but not so broad that the point is lost. I’m a little conflicted as to how to do that. :???:

    Lots of uncertainty, goals and determination. Hopefully at the 1 year old mark of my blog (Next March) I can boast steady growth and a strong reader base. But if content is king, I’m certainly working hard enough to bring the readers eventually.

    I’m a little concerned about the PageRank thing. I’m at a 5, and hope I can stay there :).

    @Sabrina:
    I have a feeling a lot of people are working to establish a strong reader base before the year is out (myself included heh).
    Good luck with your new job :grin:

    My goal for next 4 months and 20some days is to raise my rank from 2 to 4. Beers a day, of course.

    I plan to reach to +300 unique visits a day. On 100 sites, of course.

    I can`t double nor make half my newsletter subscribers, while I have none. I feel usefull like so, both for me and for them :-P

    I’m a little freaked about the PR update. Up until a couple of days ago, my site The Sapheyerblu Review had a PR rating of 1. Now, it’s at 0. I don’t know what that means, and I’m really weirded out about it.

    I’ll be honest. I’d really like to see the PR rank go up, and that pretty much made me feel like giving up, but I won’t. I almost cried right after I curbed my urge to throw a sludgehammer through my monitor.

    Other than that, things are looking up for me. I just recently struck a deal with the great Garry Conn where I write 100 very short articles for one of his sites, and in exchange, he’s giving me a domain name he bought earlier this week. Check out either one of my blogs for details, if you’re interested.

    Baron, Just wanted to let you know that I really like your Sunday Screw off blogging. It’s a nice change of pace.

    Ok, the ranting redhead is done. LOL :lol:

    @sapheyerblu:
    I read about that deal on your blog. That domain name is great!
    I’ve heard a couple of blogs had some weird rank changes too.
    You can rant here anytime you like :grin:

    Ok, now I’m totally confused.

    I just went to the iwebtool thingy and typed in address of my other blog, and according to it, my site is “still” at a PR of 1 and is predicted to hit a PR of 4.

    That would be so totally cool. I’ll be keeping my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed. LOL

    I do feel better, though.

    Well, that’s a nice way of initiating the comments! Well, I’m not concerned about PR update at all, because the futurePR showed me that I’ll still stay at page rank 6.

    Hi, Baron! Nice little feature you’ve got going here.

    I’m still in the dating market, and I absolutely hate it. I wish I could meet my Mr. Perfect right now and put this whole dating thing to rest. Any nice guys out there near Knoxville, TN?

    Hey, gotta check…
