Galaxy Zoo: Search And Classify

Galaxy Zoo Logo

If you ever felt that scientists were taking too long in discovering, classifying, and naming millions of galaxies, this is your chance to speed things up. Galaxy Zoo is an Astronomy site that lets users search and classify galaxies from images taken by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). There are on-site tutorials on how to identify galaxies using the image viewer, and the faq provides additional answers to questions of interested users. There’s also a forum if you want to interact with other members.

Galaxy Zoo is a new site (less than a month old) which means that the whole service, from tools to images, are still being tweaked. Some images will invariably take longer to load.

Anyone interested in seeing stars?
