Nickelodeon Invests $100M In Casual Games

Nick Website

According to an article at Reuters, Nickelodeon is investing $100 million in the development of online games including virtual worlds, and massive multiplayer online games. A subscription service for a preschool educational game will also be included.Cyma Zarghami, Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group president, stated:

“Particularly in the kids space, with more than 86 percent of kids 8-14 gaming online, we see great momentum for online casual gaming. This investment will benefit not only our audiences but also our marketing and distribution partners.”

Maybe they could also invest in the development of more Tower Defense games heh.

That’s fabulous! My daughter plays casual, mainly educational, games. Interestingly this week we finally surfed on over to Nick, Jr. She’s usually on Starfall. She’s become addicted to a Dora game on Nick, Jr. It’s mind numbing, to me, but she loves it!

My daughter loves Nick Jr. too  The only problem is that she won’t let me use the computer once she starts playing

You know you’ll “have” to purchase another computer.

I bought another notebook computer about four months ago. I mainly use Macintosh (17″ MacBook Pro) however, one of my client’s projects has to be completed using the Windows OS.

I could have installed bootcamp, and run both Os but I didn’t want to. I got a great deal, at Ubid, on a 15″ HP Pavilion dv6000t. They didn’t have the 17″ when I needed it. My keeps telling me that the HP (she calls it Zizzy) is her computer.
