Interesting!. If you can’t get online to use Google Doc or ThinkFree, this is another good option.

Open office has come a long way over the past several years. Anything to keep from giving more cash to Bill Gates
Remember the self interview? Go read this one. The writer is an erotic writer, not my usual cup of tea but she is a great writer nonetheless: http://www.chaosnoir.com/anastasia/2007/07/the-self.html

Hey man,
I know this is totally off topic, but I just wanted to let you know that I put you in my post today, and I’ll have my blogger interview (well overdue!) posted this week.
Basically, I’ve been stranded offline due to a lighting-fried modem, so I’ve gotten a bit behind on things.
Anyway, just wanted to touch base and say hello.
Shine on,
Aaron

Hey Aaron good to see you’re back man! No problem with being off topic .. I’m basically an off topic guy anyway haha.
I’ll be waiting for your interview

Hehe .. We are using OpenOffice in our pc halls company`s computers for some time, long enough to forget there could be people outthere not even know that thing exist.
I have it also in my old pc installed and is very usefull. The version I have (but hardly used just to open .xls sheets) have even some more facilities - also a notepad (I preffer notepad++), event calendar, image viewer (something similar to ACDSee trial-free, but not better than Irfan).
Even if is big piece of software, is a good thing to have OpenOffice installed. Good job this article, Baron von Brown.

Hehe thanks Valentin

The one problem I have with Openoffice, is the poor program titles.
Math? Write? Calc?
July 10th, 2007 22:32
Haha they probably didn’t want to think of better titles.
July 11th, 2007 13:32
Can this be used on cellphones? Most cellphones can only open Word documents, not create new ones. It would be great to be able to add this option and then download the document to be converted to Word in the laptop.
July 11th, 2007 13:52
@Manila Mom:
I think it can since there’s no installation involved.
July 11th, 2007 14:13
Great! Even if no one in the family is a techie, I think we’ll look this up. Thanks for the info!
