MySpace Launches Instant Messaging Service

MySpace has launched the official beta version of its instant messaging service, MySpaceIM. The popular social networking site has stated that over 17 million of its members have already downloaded the instant messaging client since its informal launch a year ago.
The messaging client’s difference from other popular chat services are it’s tight integration with the MySpace main site, and the presence of a music player. Trillian users will be glad to know that the upcoming Trillian Astra will have support for the MySpaceIM service. A client for the mobile is also being developed.

Crazy. As much I want to deny the existence of all things MySpace, the bigger and stronger they keep coming. Thinking about it, it’s kind of crazy that a MySpace IM hasn’t come up before now. Probably easy money.

Even though I don’t use MySpace, I’m pretty sure this service will be a success like you guys said.

It actually looks pretty good! If they start rolling out products like this, people may not be bad mouthing them that much
