Blog Backup Online

If you want to have another option for backing up your blog, you might want to try this out. Blog Backup Online is a service that makes a daily backup of your blog. You can also use this if you’re planning on switching blogging platforms. Backups can be saved to your hard drive as well. You can export your backups in RSS format to any third party server, or store it on Blog Backup’s server.
Supported platforms are Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, Friendster, Movable Type, Multiply, Serendipity, Terapad, TypePad, Vox, and Windows Live Space.

The service is free while they’re still in Beta, and users get 50 megs of allocated space.

Nice post Brown
This can come in handy. I hope they give some automated backing up feature as I am too lazy to make the backup myself lol

Are you guys backing up your blogs already? If so, how are you doing it? I think I’ve heard about a WP plugin that could accomplish this, but I’ve personally had no experience with it.

I think I will go make an account there right now.

You can also use the WP Database Backup Plugin. Basically, you’ll need to backup your db and the files on your server to be sure.

This seems great man . Will go there right now .

Here’s another option that will always be free.

Yeah, this plugin works slick for me. Don’t have to worry about a 3rd party and don’t have to worry about space, plus you have multiple places you can save it.

The WP Database Backup plugin would still be the best option for the reasons Listikal stated.

The WPBackup plugin doesn’t work on my site, not sure why…I can do manual backups, but we all know that it’s much better to have an automated backup, so if the WPBackup plugin works for your site…then use it…but if you’re in the same boat I am & that plugin just doesn’t work, then read this post for a solution to backing up all of your website databases & complete homedir automatically.

@Mark:
Have you tried the WP Database Backup plugin? It’s pretty good.
June 30th, 2007 11:57
Yeah, I’ve tried it, but haven’t turned it back on since I upgraded. When I saw Blog Backup mentioned somewhere else recently it reminded me of your review (aww, ain’t that sweet?) so I thought I’d check out any follow-up comments.
