Trojan Horse Piggybacks On YouTube Video
Trend Micro has recently announced that a certain YouTube video could compromise a user’s computer if downloaded. The supposed video looks like an episode of ‘Afterworld’. The trojan can compromise computers running Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, and Server 2003. Trend Micro has given the trojan a low overall risk rating with medium damage potential.
Here’s a video of what happens when your computer is compromised by this trojan.

Isn’t demonstrating a potential threat from a Youtube video, using a Youtube video a little dumb?

Do we get infected only after we downloaded the video onto our hard disk, or by just simply streaming the video on YouTube itself?
June 14th, 2007 18:52
Your computer gets compromised while you’re streaming the video
