Rome Rebuilt In Virtual 3D



RomeRome Reborn 1.0 is a real time 3D reconstruction of 320 A.D. Rome created by an academic team of architects, computer scientists and archaeologists from UCLA, the Milan Polytechnic and the University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities. Visitors can navigate through the virtual streets of Rome and even visit the Colosseum.

It seems that talks are underway with Linden Labs to have them host the entire simulation in ‘Second Life’.
