Brown Talk: Open Comments Sunday

Brown TalkThe first time I saw the open comments was at BlogAboutYourBlog and thought it was a great idea. The idea behind this is to get to know more about your readers by giving them a post where they can talk/comment about anything they want. Most readers don’t comment due to 2 main reasons. They’re either a little shy, or they feel that they don’t have a worthwhile opinion about the post.

Getting to know you better
I love reading every comment whether it’s serious or funny, short or long. This helps me get to know everyone better and of course, it develops a sense of community which is one of my main goals.

Go ahead and comment
Talk about anything you want. It can be a question, or how your week went, or what you’re doing right now. Talk about whatever comes to mind.

This post is yours, go on and talk :grin:

    Wow, it’s an honor to be the first to comment on this new venture!

    I just got back from getting an incredible deep tissue massage at my local community college. At the end of the Spring semester each year, the students have an internship period during which they must acquire 50 hours of hands-on (rimshot!) experience before they can become registered massage therapists. So each Summer, I take advantage of the opportunity to get a great massage (or two - or three!) at an incredibly reasonable price - $15 for a one hour session.

    Anyhoo, I’m about as relaxed as a warm pat of butter right now…

    Hi, I’m just having a lazy afternoon surfing some blogs. It is very easy to get caught up in our own little blog and forget that there are so many others out there just waiting to be discovered. So I try to discover a few and leave a few comments on a sunday afternoon. Have a great weekend all.

    I’m just trying to keep myself occupied for the last ten minutes until the series finale of The Sopranos comes on. It’s feels like forever and although I’m excited for tonight’s episode, I’m sad at the same time because I know it’s the end. Bittersweetness.

    I picked up some comics today, most notably a couple on World War Hulk. I’ve just recently gotten back into comics a bit after Marvel’s Civil War arc, and I think this is the next biggest thing. Other than that, I wish the NBA finals was PHX vs SA…The Cavs are just getting waxed.

    @Angela:
    You should tape the last episode :mrgreen:

    @Bush:
    Yeah, the cavs are playing like they’re just “happy to be here”.

    I spent the day at the Chicago Blues Festival, which was quite excelent musically (Cephas & Wiggins, James Cotton, Bobby Rush, etc.) and weather wise (upper seventies and sunny). This was followed by watching the Sopranos finale over dinner with friends. I’m sure there are some folks who are going to be pretty upset about the ending, but I thought it was pretty interesting on a couple levels (won’t go into details in case someone hasn’t seen it). Finally checked out the new HBO series John from Cincinnati (has some potential, but a little wierd) before heading out to a local cafe for some witty repartee. A very nice Sunday, indeed.

    Sounds like you had a great day Francis :grin:

    The majority of my day was spent giving horseback rides(on my back :lol: ) to my 5 and 2 year old children. After that, my 13 year old and I had a long talk about computer games, blog mechanics, and school activities. Then my 2 younger children decided to wrestle me until they got tired.

    I’ve got a feeling my body will be sore all over when I wake up tomorrow :lol:

    Just finish my long 40 hr weekend work and I’m glad to be off today. I really don’t have any big plans this week. I’ll be visiting the kids this afternoon to spend some time with them before I hed home on a 2 hr drive. In 4 days I’ll be doing the same thing over again. Have a great day everyone!
