Brown Batch #8: Link Love Goodness

Brown Batch

The weekend is here and you know what that means. It’s time to put the spotlight on interesting posts by other bloggers. Here we go:

  • Wayne Smallman - Will Everything On The Web One Day Be Free?
  • What we have are a number of ways in which thee & me can be as easily as fools be made strangers of our own money.

What we have are methods by which the web can be a sustainable platform for a wide range of services, many of which being divided into tiered web applications.

  • A Virtual Exit - Earn Money Online With Microsoft Affiliate Network
  • Microsoft, that has been recently claiming its share of the Affiliate marketing space, has recently launched a beta program for their affiliate network. The beta program is accessible by invitation only and it’s currently open for bloggers and webmasters from the USA and Canada.

  • Sizlopedia - Firefox 3: Upcoming User Interface Features
  • Firefox 3 is said to have a feature called “Places” which is a whole new infrastructure for storing bookmarks, tags, history and other information about web pages. Users will be able to bookmark their favorite pages more efficiently, tag them and will be allowed to group their saved searches.

  • Ordinary Folk - Goodies For The Designer In You
  • If you enjoy web design and art there’s a pretty good chance the number of sites you’ve favorited will reflect that. It only makes sense, right? I’ve been going through my StumbleUpon favorites a bit tonight and I thought I’d put together a short list of some of my favorite stumbles.

  • Daily Blessings - Fighting Back Against Trashy TV
  • I don’t know about you, but I am extremely concerned with the lack of sensitivity that the networks show in their programming. Every year it gets worse and worse…a little more skin here….another offensive word there. What impressions must this make on our kids?!

  • ‘Somerset’ Bob’s Place - The Real Value Of Web 2.0
  • Is this a good or a bad thing? Chris looks at it from both sides of the coin and gives a balanced view–publishers want to protect the investment they’ve made in the authors they’ve taken on; they don’t want them writing a similar book on the same subject for another publisher and have them effectively competing against their own work. Authors, on the other hand, want the freedom to pursue other projects that might come their way due to the success of their previously published work, or to blog about the book they’ve just had published.

  • On The Wings Of My Dreams - Getting Psycho
  • The result of my tests are hilarious and far fetched. some are true some are not. some came so close but other results proved to be so odd that I was convinced that the processor of the site got digital-schizophrenia of some sort. I may say that 60% of these results are true. the remaining 40% that are erratic, I’ll leave it up to you for the guessing game.

  • eMoms At Home - Babies 2.0 At BabyChums.com
  • Basically, parents don’t create profiles - it’s all about the babies. So even if you didn’t want to socialize with other people on the site, you could very easily create a mini-website for your baby to share photos and news with distant family and friends. But they also have a live chat feature, forum, groups, event board and classifieds so that there’s plenty of reasons to get social.

Please take a minute to visit each one. The authors would definitely love to see you there  .
