EMI Signs Deal With YouTube
EMI, the third largest music firm, has just signed an agreement with Google that gives YouTube access to EMI’s audio and video libraries. EMI is the fourth major record company to sign with YouTube. The first three are Warner Music, Universal Music Group, and Sony BMG entertainment. Part of the deal involves EMI working with YouTube to develop new business models that will allow EMI to track and attach monetary value to their content. The deal’s financial details have yet to be disclosed.
Google sure is busy these days.

Big deal? Maybe I’m alone, but I’ll say it anyway. I really don’t care about music videos, and probably never care about music videos ever again.

I think the last time I actually cared about music videos was when I was a teenager.

Well when you’ve got as much money as Google does I guess it’s no big deal to toss around a couple hundred million every other week. They probably even line the walls of their bathrooms with it
