UK PSP Owners To Get Mobile Phone Functionality
Sony Entertainment Europe has just signed a 4 year contract with BT, to add text messaging, voice calls, and high quality video calls to the PSP. This means that UK owners of the PSP will soon have mobile capabilities added to their consoles. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president David Reeves stated:
“It is very exciting for us to be partnering with BT on such a unique project. The opportunity to combine our market leading expertise with BT’s knowledge in communications opens up many possibilities and we look forward to bringing many exciting communication functions to PSP fans.”
Like I mentioned when I wrote about the PSP camera, all the console lacked was mobile capabilities. I just hope that PSP owners in Asia will have the same capabilities added to their consoles too

You know, when I read about the camera, I said - “What the devil’s the point?” Now with the whole whole mobile phone thing,…Well, the plot has thickened.

@Bush:
That’s true, I was actually complaining to my wife that they should have worked on adding mobile capabilities first. I guess I complained a little too loudly.

I honestly never thought about mobile capabilities for the PSP, but I guess it only makes sense with everything else it can do. And now that it’s only $169 stateside, it’s really a great little device.
