Brown Batch #6

Brown Batch

It’s time for the weekly roundup of interesting posts by other bloggers. I think I should change the image I use hmm. This week’s selection are:

  • TechCruser - Create Keyboard Shortcuts In Windows XP
  • At shortcut key press the keyboard combo you want to assign to launch the program, it must include one standard character plus two or three of <ctrl> <shift> or <alt>.

  • Family Web Watch - Help Kids Stay Organized For School
  • Even though the school is year over for some students, it’s not a bad idea to get them organized for non-school activities over the summer. Giving your teen the tools to help them do that will help them later in life.

  • A Virtual Exit - Introducing The Experts Corner
  • Starting today, we are featuring the Expert’s Corner, a FREE service, that allows you to get your software related questions answered by PC experts. So if you have a question on any Microsoft and Google products - the Expert’s Corner is the place to ask them!

  • Daily Blessings - A Passion For Photography
  • My Papa, my mom’s father, had a dark room down in his basement, and every summer I would descend the narrow cement staircase to the smells of musty darkness and developing chemicals. It was a wonderful place of discovery for a toddler to a teen.

  • A Frog To Kiss - The Redneck Way To Make Money
  • I live in West Virginia, right? I have access to rednecks, right? Blow-up pools don’t cost that much, Wal Mart has them for about $125. Firewood and a barrel to burn it in-pfft, not a problem. Add them all up and what do you get? A Redneck Social.

  • Necessary Skills - Optimism And Pessimism For Planning
  • We need a balance between the two viewpoints when looking at our lives. We need to tread the middle way and use both mindsets in formulating our plans. Start with an optimistic plan then look at with pessimist ’s viewpoint to find flaws and holes.

  • NeonScent - Turning Visitors Into Regulars Part I
  • Your design reflects your blog. This is a complicated thing. If you have a picture of a duck on your design, people will assume your blog is about ducks. But if your blog is not about ducks, then put your blog name near the duck so people know. But if your blog name has the word “Duck” in it, then it is still a good idea to put the ducks near the name, but also include a short 5-8 word description of your blog.
