Google Adds More Features To Personalized Pages

iGoogleAfter resolving issues with their Personalized Home Page service, Google will now add more features to let users customize their home pages a little more. New languages are available bringing the total count to 26. Themes for the service are now available to users living outside the United States.

Probably the biggest enhancement to the service is the Gadget Maker which lets users create their own gadgets featuring their own content without having to use code. The seven gadget templates available are:

  1. Countdown - for counting down to events or specific days
  2. Personal List - personal list creator
  3. Framed Photo - for creating or uploading images
  4. Daily Me - functions like a miniblog
  5. YouTube Gadget - for showing videos
  6. Free Form - can contain any text or image
  7. GoogleGram - a greeting card gadget that shows different messages and images everyday

It seems like the service is headed in the right direction. We’ll just have to wait and see if Google can turn it into a feature-packed portal that the majority of web surfers will want to use.

The name iGoogle seems strange for me. :-) Similar to apple products. BTW did you get a link back from my last post yesterday? :-)
