Yahoo Adds Lyrics To Its Music Collection
In an effort to expand its online music section, Yahoo Inc. will be adding the lyrics of 400,000 songs of 9,000 artists from The Beatles to Beyonce. Yahoo hopes that this will provide web surfers with a better alternative to sites that publish song lyrics without the copyright owners’ permission.
Some of the music publishers who will be contributing their song lyrics are Universal Music Publishing Group, Sony/ATV, BMG, and EMI Music Publishing.
This should increase the traffic for Yahoo’s music section which attracted 22 million U.S. visitors last month according to comScore Media Metrix.

Seems like a good idea because it is a free service for users.
Yahoo is also sharing the online ads revenue with the publishers which provided the content.
