Technorati Experiment Update
Ever since I saw Maki’s post on Dosh Dosh and joined my Technorati rank jumped from 200K plus to 63,270. I’m sure most of you who joined have had a huge improvement in your rank as well. The biggest jumps I’ve seen so far have been Maki and Mr. Gary Lee’s rank. The good news is that the experiment is still going strong so for those who haven’t joined yet, or for those who want to have more people add you check out the following links:

Nice work on the jump there!
Frankly speaking, I guess there is hardly much use to the experiment there other than to jump in into the top hundred blogs to compete with the big boys. Would it bring more traffic? I doubt so.

the experiment has been fun but i agree with lyndon that it doesn’t really affect traffic. but it does give you bragging rights! lol i’m #78 today. see?

Lyn- It’s actually brought me more traffic, I didn’t have much in the beginning.
Brown Baron- Thanks for the mention and yes it has increased my favorites and ranking. I’m now with 86 favorites, whereas before I only had 4 or 5.

*grins. Actually I’m waiting for the day where the top 100 folks would be everyone I know. That would be real cool! Hopefully, I’ll come soon. Then I can brag too that I know everyone in the Top 100! *evil grins.

Oh that’s a huge increase. Does this mean, increasing the no of favorites actually increase technorati rank????

Glad to see you’ve got a jump in rank, Brown Baron.
Contrary to what lyndon thinks, the Top 100 most favorited does bring traffic although not much.
My traffic report (due this week) will address this topic and I’m sure it will be rather interesting. I expect to see more blogs jumping on the faves wagon soon….

@Mr. Byte: I’m not sure if the number of faves directly affects your rank. My guess is that the number of people who linked to us because of the experiment caused the jump in rank.
@Maki: Thanks. You know I think that after people read your upcoming traffic report we’ll get more new participants or at least more people linking to you. You might actually get another jump in rank
