Ars Technica actually posted a story warning prospective job seekers about what they post online either in forums or in their own blogs. Apparently a lot employers Google potential candidates to see what they can dig up on them online.

That’s why I always advice friends to draft their resume on Word. If underlines misspelled words and grammar erros

Just to keep up with the flow of comments:
Do not edit someone else’s Word document for your resume (including templates).
Employers can see if the document has been edited in the past and you do not want to look like an amateur.
