Microsoft Pays Companies To Use Windows Live Search
Microsoft has started their new service called “Microsoft Service Credits for Web Search” which basically pays companies to use Windows Live Search. This service uses a Browser Helper Object installed in IE7 to track any search made and sends the data back to Microsoft. The service doesn’t work in any other browser, just IE7. Another little way of “encouraging” big companies to switch browsers.
Companies that have thousands of computers can earn $2 to $10 US for each computer on an annual basis. Now that’s a lot of money.
It seems that Microsoft wants in on Google’s market badly but they’re forgetting something. Google doesn’t need to pay anyone to use their search engine.
