Nokia N95 - A Quick Look
While the N95 has not yet been released, I decided to take a quick look at its features to see if it really was worthy of the hype. Let’s break it down by sections.
General:
For network support it has HSDPA / GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. Weighing 120 g., this phone comes with a 16M color TFT display. Screen size is 240×320 pixels or roughly 2.6 inches.
Supported ringtones are Polyphonic (64 channels), Monophonic, True Tones, and MP3. For those who love storing their music on their phones, the N95 comes with a 128 MB microSD card that is upgradeable to 2 gigs. The phone has 160 MB of internal memory. Not bad eh?
Data:
Its GPRS is a Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps. Since this is 3G phone, it supports EDGE and its WLAN is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology. The N95 supports Bluetooth, Infrared, and USB.
Features:
The N95 runs on Symbian OS 9.2, S60 rel. 3.1. Its messaging feature supports SMS, MMS, Email, and Instant Messaging with WAP 2.0 browser. Games can be downloaded.
The camera of the N95 is definitely a winner. It’s a 5 megapixel with Carl Zeiss optics, and autofocus. Video records at 30 frames per second. No more choppy phone movies. It also comes with a secondary CIF videocall camera.
Its built-in GPS navigation has maps covering over 100 countries. Other features include a Stereo FM Radio, TV out, Organiser, Office document viewer, T9, Push to talk , Voice dial/memo, and Built-in handsfree.
Conclusion:
If I could afford it, I’d get the N95. It’s definitely a winner.
